Where to head along the Ford RideLondon-Essex 100 route on Sunday 26 May
Riders will enjoy both the buzz of the capital and the beautiful Essex countryside. After setting off from Victoria Embankment in London from 06:00, the riders cycle east through Stratford and continue into towns and villages including Epping, Uttlesford, Braintree, Chelmsford and Ongar.
If you live in any of these areas, why not cheer on the riders from any of the viewing points listed below.
Epping
As the thousands of riders approach Essex, the lush greenery of Epping Forest will be the first part of the county they see. If you’re spectating in the morning, you could position yourself along Epping High Street.
Chipping Ongar hosts a crossover point where riders’ times will pause automatically, so if you’re local it’s a great spot to join in the celebrations. With many businesses opening up to provide refreshments and entertainment, there will be plenty to enjoy.
If you’re local to Epping Forest, you'll also have a chance to watch the 100-mile riders in action in Fyfield and Chigwell Row.
- Riders are expected to pass through Epping from approximately 07:00 to 11:05.
Uttlesford
If you live in Uttlesford, you could spectate along the High Street or in the beautiful village of Leaden Roding – or perhaps outside Felsted School.
- Riders are expected to pass through Uttlesford from approximately 07:48 to 12:49.
Braintree
As the route dips into Braintree, Blake End will be a great viewing point for family and friends.
- Riders are expected to pass through Braintree from approximately 08:00 to 13:30.
Chelmsford
For a great spot to watch the riders as they make their way back through Epping Forest towards London on the final leg of their 100-mile challenge, head to the junction of Chignal Road and Roxwell Road. Another great place to spectate is the end of the bicycle track from Chelmsford to Writtle, where it meets Lordship Road.
- Riders are expected to pass through Chelmsford from approximately 08:28 to 14:18.
Ongar
If you’re local to Ongar be sure to keep an eye out for the riders! They will be cycling down Chelmsford Road and the High Street, as well as Fyfield Road and Epping Road, so there will be plenty of places for you to spectate.
- Riders are expected to pass through Ongar from approximately 08:55 to 15:15.
Tower Bridge
If you’re in London and manage to nab a spot near Tower Bridge, you’ll be able to watch the riders cross the incredible Finish Line!
- Riders are expected to cross the Finish Line at Tower Bridge from approximately 10:04 to 17:47.
